New Clinic Family Members

New Clinic Family Members

We have four new”ish” team members! Please meet Dr. Lily Hu, Chantal (Registered Veterinary Technician), Selena (our new patient/client-care-coordinator), Grace (our new evening patient/client-care-coordinator), and Hazelnut (our new clinic mascot):

Dr. Lily was born and raised in Toronto, where she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto. She then went on to study veterinary medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College. She is especially interested in preventive care and feline medicine. Growing up watching all kinds of shows about animals, she has aspired to become a veterinarian ever since childhood. Now that she’s finally a veterinarian, Dr. Lily is excited to meet you and your furry (and sometimes not-so-furry) family members! She is ready and waiting to shake some paws and hand out treats! Outside the clinic, she enjoys collecting animal-themed socks, painting portraits of her animal friends, and relaxing with her senior cat, Beau.

Animals have always been a great source of happiness in Chantal’s life, so it was no surprise she chose a career involving animals. When it came to pets growing up, Chantal always felt her family had room for just one more (despite the two dogs and one cat they already had). Chantal joined the Don Head team shortly after completing the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College and she could not have asked for a better fit. Every day, Chantal gets to work alongside an incredible team of animal lovers who find a place in their hearts for each and every one of our patients – big or small.

Selena has been an animal lover for as long as she can remember and there’s nothing she would rather do than to spend her time working alongside them and helping to make a difference in their lives. Selena has a background working in doggy daycares and in animal shelters, but she finds it the most rewarding to be a part of our fabulous team who work very hard for the wellbeing of our patients!

Grace became part of our team in Spring of 2019. You can find Grace behind our reception desk having friendly conversations with clients and patients alike. At home, Grace works as a part-time Chef and Personal Assistant to one-year-old rescue named Padme and two Crested Geckos named Ninja and Kaiju. Besides her love of animals, Grace enjoys baking, travelling and kick-boxing.

Meet this crazy, little nut! Hazelnut arrived at our clinic in January in rough shape – she was malnourished, dehydrated, had frostbitten ears, and had a belly full of intestinal parasites. Team Don Head Village Animal Clinic to the rescue! After starting a great quality diet, fluid therapy, deworming treatment, and lots and lots of TLC, our little Hazelnut has blossomed into a very naughty but incredibly cuddly and adorable little kitty. The next time you’re in the clinic, be sure you meet our sweet girl!
