Our Community

Our Community has really grown over the last 10 years!

We believe that as veterinarians, we serve our community, not only our patients… we work for the public good. To this end, we actively donate our time and fundraise for organizations that work for the benefit of our community and pets’ welfare.

Each year we fundraise for the Farley Foundation. Established by the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) in 2001, the Farley Foundation (a registered charity) assists seniors and disabled persons on limited incomes with the necessary treatment of their pets. The Farley Foundation has helped many pet owners in our community allow their pets to receive immediate care and return to health. To donate or become involved with the Farley Foundation, please go to their website: http://www.farleyfoundation.org

Dr. Enna Hughes has co-operated with schools in our area to give talks to the young people of our community in Thornhill Woods Public School and Crosby Heights Public School. The little kids learned about pet care and what veterinarians do; the older kids heard that there are many career options available to them, including veterinary medicine. If you would be interested in a talk for your school or children’s group, please contact us – we would love to be involved!

Some of our staff have provided foster homes for pets and volunteered with Forgotten Ones Cat Rescue. To donate or to become involved please go to their website at http://www.forgottenones.ca

We donate food and materials to the Humane Society. There are many homeless cats and dogs waiting an adoption into their forever home. Taking care of these animals is an expensive undertaking. Through donations, this organization has helped many pets live long and happy lives they would not have had otherwise!

We monetarily support the Ontario Veterinary College Pet Trust Fund, making a donation in honour of the memory of each patient that has passed away. This organazation supports reseach that works to directly improve the longevity and quality of life of our pets by funding research. They do amazing work!
